Roosevelt Road Specialty Closes Closes Hundreds of Cases in 2025

New York, NY. – December 8, 2025 – As we close 2025, the team at Roosevelt Road Specialty and Tradesman Program Managers is pleased to share the incredible work that resulted in the successful closure this year of hundreds of cases, many of them with zero indemnity payments.

The extraordinary numbers were made possible by our hardworking team who worked relentlessly on behalf of our insureds and broker partners.

Some highlights of the cases closed in 2025 include:

  • A woman claimed she fell on a sidewalk where our contractor was allegedly working and sued for $400,000. Our team fought back arguing that our insured was not working at the site and therefore had no liability. The plaintiff’s legal team was unable to prove that our insured was indeed working at the site. The suit was dismissed and no funds were paid out.
  • Our team fought a claim by a worker who had conflicting accounts of falling on a job site. The 7-figure case closed with no payments.
  • Within 45 minutes of a worker falling from a scaffold, our loss control team arrived at the scene. They began documenting the occurrence. Our claims team had an investigator take statements from witnesses within hours of the loss. Three days after the accident, our legal team was able to secure a settlement and closed the case.
  • Only weeks after filing a lawsuit against one of our insureds, a plaintiff’s attorney immediately withdrew the case after we believe he learned that Tradesman was representing the insured. Our team set up the claim in our database July 10 and the plaintiff withdrew his complaint on July 31.
  • In July, one of our clients had a legitimate worker fall. Fortunately, the injuries were not severe and were able to resolve the claim amicably without the need for litigation. Both parties were satisfied with the case resolution and WC deductibles.
  • In June, Tradesman secured a landmark legal victory in Bronx County, one of the most notoriously challenging venues for defendants in New York. In a damages-only trial, where liability had already been granted under Labor Law 240(1), the jury delivered a verdict of $450,000 – a fraction of the $4 million sought by plaintiff’s counsel and even lower than Tradesman’s original $750,000 offer.

“The results we delivered in 2025 reflect the power of rapid on-the-ground response and an unwavering commitment to protecting our insureds and broker partners,” said Daniel Hickey Jr., CEO of Roosevelt Road Specialty Tradesman. “I could not be more proud of our legal, claims, and loss control teams, who continue to fight every day in some of the toughest jurisdictions in the country. Their relentless efforts safeguard the construction community and our broker partners.”
